Beaver’s Digest Instagram Template Book
Beaver’s Digest is a student life magazine by Orange Media Network. Beaver's Digest shares stories on its website, social media, and its podcast Dam That's Deep.
For this project, I work on their Instagram Template Book based on their brand system to elevate their brand voice visually.
Date: Spring 2021
Client: Beaver’s Digest
Project Type: Social Media branding
01 Accessible Colors
The contrast colors increase the reliability. Following the brand colors, I organize the combination of the accessible colors and brought some examples of both accessible and inaccessible.
02 Typography
Applying basic typography systems such as fonts and alignments, I create guidelines for increasing reliability and accessibility. Same as colors, it is important to have high contrast in font strokes and size to separate the title and text to hierarchy the information.
03 Icon Uses
Icons are great imagery to help better understanding and also catch the viewers’ attention. Orange Media Network has a solid icon system, but it has not been used for social media. I represent how the icons can be applied in Instagram story highlights and feeds.
04 Photography
Since Instagram is image-based, photography is important on the feed. It is nice to have visual elements such as logo and brand colors on the post, which could tell the post is under Beaver’s Digest.
05 Recipe Post
One of the contents at Beaver’s Digest is sharing an international recipe. Using multiple posts on Instagram, separate the information into 3 image posts by title, ingredients, and directions. It increases the readability to size up the fonts and images and also viewers’ attention by categories.
06 Sticker Uses
The Instagram story allows customizing a sticker with a photo with transparent background. I present the directions on how to make a sticker example of the Beaver’s Digest logo, which can be replaced by anything.
